Innsbruck Exhibition Centre

Events: Closing Ceremony, Culture & Entertainment Program

It was in 1893 that the first ever Tyrolean regional expo took place at the Innsbruck Exhibition Centre, with the main focus on agriculture. Following the creation of the ‘Innsbrucker Messegesellschaft’ expo authority in 1923, the trade show industry went on to experience a boom which continues today. Among the most popular events hosted these days by the Innsbruck Exhibition Centre include the fafga Trade Fair for Catering and the Hotel Business, the Innsbruck Autumn Fair and the Wine Fair.
Messe Innsbruck and Congress Innsbruck merged in 2004. In January 2012, following major reconstruction and development work, the new building opened its doors as one of the most modern trade fair venues in the Alps and was privileged to host the 1st Youth Olympics Winter Games as its first event in the new Innsbruck Exhibition Centre. The Innsbruck Exhibition Centre offers the ideal conditions for the side program (Home Base) and will also host the crowning closure of the Games, the Closing Ceremony.
